Perhaps one of the saddest, yet necessary events in human history was the death of our Messiah, Jesus Christ. Though we celebrate his birth as a tiny baby each Christmas, we also remember that he grew into the man who endured a cruel death on the cross so that you and I could receive eternal life.
When we openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we are saved from the penalty of our sin (Romans 10:9, NLT), able to spend eternity in Heaven with our Heavenly Father, God.
Jesus’ mission on earth was misunderstood, and because of this misunderstanding he was rejected by many who claimed to love Him and to be His. It was believed that He would build and/or restore a physical kingdom. However, Jesus was sent to establish a spiritual kingdom on earth. He revolutionized the world with a few men empowered by His Holy Spirit.
Jesus came to earth to bring the Kingdom of God near (Mark 1:15, NLT) and to save the world, to make the world safe and sound through Him (John 3:17, AMP). We are able to receive salvation in His name because He was the payment of the sin debt of every man, woman, and child.
My prayer is that during this Christmas season, each person reading this will understand His mission and accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior. His Eternal Kingdom is enlarged daily on the earth as we trust Him.
